About Villa Iremia
The setting
Looking from the main terrace you’ll see a wonderful outlook of the Ionian Islands as far as the Peloponnese and to mainland Greece. Move your gaze around and the forest and mountains of Lefkada are apparent with varying shades of greens set against the ancient limestone rocks. On occasion you can hear chapel bells toll on holy days along with the dawn and dusk bird choruses. The nearby road can take you off on an island adventure or down to the bustle of Nidri town and beyond.
The villa
The villa boasts two spacious well appointed double bedrooms with ensuites shower rooms. The third bedroom can either be a double or a twin served by a family shower room. All bedrooms have air conditioning. The kitchen has all the facilities you would expect for a luxury villa with a large breakfast bar to congregate around and discuss your days plans. Ceiling fans will help cool you down and move the air around. From there you move through to the open plan dining room and lounge where you’ll find a comfortable sofa and TV with a free Netflix subscription. Fast WiFi is available throughout the villa. The access to terraces is easy and free flowing. The infinity pool will invite you further outside and on to other terraces for sun downers, BBQs or just chilling in the sun.
Arriving
Preveza airport is just a 40 minute drive with plenty of car hire companies to suite your needs. Car hire is best arranged prior to arrival to save time but can be done straight from the plane. We can send pins for maps or coordinates before hand. You’ll be greeted by Gill and Jon on your arrival and there will be a starter hamper to see you through until you can provision. We have companies that will take food and drink orders and deliver to the villa ready and waiting for you. A full set of towels is available for each bathroom with additional pool towels. Should you wish to spend the day at one of the many fantastic beaches we can supply towels also. Gill and Jon will be on hand to help with handover of info and help you settle in.
The Island
The west coast of the island offers some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean and on the way you can visit the mountain villages and take in the breathtaking views of the coast. Visit Lefkada town for the pedestrian shopping street, coffee bars and excellent restaurants. There’s a real buzz around town and along the harbour with loads to see and do or if you like just sit and people watch. On a clear day you can see over 10 different Greek islands such as Skorpios, Meganissi, Kalamos and Kastos. Ferries are available for day trips to visit the islands or just to cruise around. We have maps of the main routes on the island and would be glad to give you the wealth of our experience on attractions, beaches and restaurants.
Locally
The local town of Nidri has some fantastic restaurants, bars, cafes and shops with a huge variety to choose from. From there you can hire a motorboat to explore the nearby islands or take a day cruise to some of the less accessible beaches. Many of the tavernas serve traditional local dishes such as Kokoretsy, pasticcio and stifado but keep an eye on the modern alternatives with some excellent dining experiences available nearby. We have maps available to help navigate the island and some great local tips we can share with you. There are a variety of activities which can be tailor made for your enjoyment such as E-biking, cycling, nature walks, scuba diving, sailing excursions etc which we will be happy to coordinate for you.
